New characters
- Kōichi Yamadera as Marshadow, the Gloomdweller Pokémon who is not known to show itself to people and thus a few only knew its existence. It mysteriously travels with Ash and his friends.
- Kanata Hongō in the Japanese version and David Oliver Nelson in the English dub as Sorrel (Souji), a young Trainer from Veilstone City who aims to become a Pokémon Professor. He is seen with a Lucario.
- Shiori Sato in the Japanese version and Suzy Myers in the English dub as Verity (Makoto), an energetic Trainer from Twinleaf Town who travels alongside Ash and Sorrel. She has a Piplup as her starter Pokémon. She is later confirmed to be the daughter of Cynthia, the Sinnoh League Champion.
- Arata Furuta in the Japanese version and Mike Pollock in the English dub as Bonji, a mysterious old man who knows about the Legendary Pokémon Ho-Oh and is determined to chase it at any costs.
- Ryōta Ōsaka in the Japanese version and Billy Bob Thompson in the English dub as Cross, an arrogant trainer who believes strength is everything and aims to become the ultimate Trainer. He is seen with an Incineroar and Midnight Form Lycanroc.

I have always liked this show a lot. I even want my kids to watch it. It will be a good entertainment for them. They just finished watching shows by Andy Yeatman and now I am thinking about adding some more entertaining shows. Internet is a good source for that.
